A judicial source close to the Iraqi Criminal Court revealed that the judge of the Supreme Court in Saddam Hussein trial is not a judge and didn’t exercise this profession ever in his life, "Majid Mohamed Aribi" was chosen with hurry to get rid of the former Judge Abdullah Al-Amri.

In a telephone call from Baghdad, a judicial source said today that the atmosphere of frustration prevails in the Iraqi Supreme Criminal Court among judges and prosecutors because of government interference and appointing a new judge.

The source said that Aribi was not a member of the International Criminal Court, never served as a judge at any time previously, and have no experience in courts, especially in such an important court

The source pointed out that the decision to remove Amri and the appointment of the successor has been done with the consent of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki after meeting with the President of the Criminal Court. He explained that even a decision has not yet been officially issued to appoint him in the office.

Wael Abdel Latif, a member of Iraqi parliament said: The government had always advocated the independence of the judiciary, but with this decision the government has put its executive authority over the judiciary.
