In July he started seeing people with odd burns, mutilated limbs and he rarely saw shrapnel. Most unusual, he says, were little dark spots on the skin. "Like this", he says lifting his right pant leg and revealing a stump. Most of his leg is gone and on his upper thigh, his hands and his right leg are hundreds of small black spots.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the western al-Fallujah neighborhood of al-Jawlan as saying that the Resistance men armed with light and medium weapons attacked the puppet army camp from two directions. From one direction the Resistance attacked the camp guards using light arms; from the other side the Resistance blasted the camp with rockets and hand grenades. The correspondent reported that the attack destroyed the entire area. Local residents said that the camp was burned up and that four puppet "Iraqi National Guards" were killed and that some of the Resistance men were also killed...

The group, which calls itself An Appeal for Redress, has received the electronic signatures of dozens of active-duty service members who say it’s time to redeploy U.S. forces from Iraq.

British to evacuate consulate in Basra after mortar attacks

The Daily Star.The United Nations, which has been studying ecological damage in Lebanon caused by Israel's summer offensive, said Saturday that it would soon be able to say whether uranium-based munitions were used, as reported by a British newspaper. The Independent newspaper said scientists studying samples of soil after Israeli bombing in Lebanon have shown high radiation levels, suggesting that uranium-based munitions were used. It said samples taken from two bomb craters in Khiam and Al-Tiri have been sent for further analysis to the Harwell laboratory in Oxfordshire, southern England, for mass spectrometry. "If there is uranium we will find it," said Boutros Harb, director of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) for Asia and the Middle East, based in Bahrain. Sa’ad like most of the Baghdadies knew about the ongoing fight between Mahdi army which is loyal to Sayed Muqtada Al-Sader and fadhil neighbourhood, one of the oldest neighbourhood in Baghdad, the majority there is Sunni. Saddam verdict could be delayed for some days
ReutersA court trying Saddam Hussein for the killing of Shi'ites in the 1980s could delay delivering a verdict, due next Sunday, for a few days to give judges more time to review testimonies, the chief prosecutor said on Sunday.
